As a kid, I was the youngest in the class and a runt. I did play some sports (baseball, football), but not really a fire breather - more of a blocking dummy. My senior year in high school, our small town got a new school with a weight room and I began lifting for the next 26 years. Being a late bloomer, I was in college before I started to develop any muscle and put on mass. In 1986, at 20 years old, I became a state trooper and continued to lift throughout my career. In 2009, I made the reconnaissance team for the state police and started to realize pumping iron wasn't helping me carry around ruck sacks, water and tactical gear. In 2010, I began CrossFit and I was hooked. CrossFit introduced me to all my weaknesses and overtime I became healthier and more athletic than I have ever been.
